What does “innovation” mean in this program?

A microsystem which is created by innovating MEMS and LSI is a critical element.  Hetero System Integration enables the selection of the integrated element in accordance with the intended purpose, and results in ever higher value-added micro-devices.

In this program, we do research and development on the enormously wide range of knowledge and technology required to achieve high value-added microsystems and focus on the integration of people, organizations and technology beyond individual fields and industry.

We believe that we will be able to provide the best technology, the best human resources, the best information and the best opportunity in the most timely fashion at the appropriate cost by forming the R&D center where we can carry out the whole process of basic and integrated research, design, experimental production and implementation.

By incorporating a) the open R&D model in which multiple companies and institutes participate, which had been believed to be difficult to realize, and b) the industry-university cooperative model which can contribute to limited production of diversified products and result in practical applications, this program will enable us to generate the growth of new field integration and advance competitiveness across the entire industry in Japan.
